Our local authority client based in East London are urgently seeking an experienced Digital Communications Officer.

(£340 a day Umbrella)

Job Details


To maintain and develop the Romford Markets digital communications presence - including social media accounts - ensuring this is aligned to the Council's vision, objectives, corporate campaigns and other relevant public messaging.


To provide a best in class digital communications service for the market, including use of social media and other digital channels.


To support the development and implementation of integrated social media campaigns that inform, help to change behaviour, engage and improve perceptions of the market and the council, ensuring evaluation is built in.


To produce digital assets such as videos, editing, animations, live feeds, stories, infographics and picture posts to support key communications.


To work effectively across the Communications and Campaigns team to ensure digital communications is integrated in all relevant communications and campaigns activity.


Experience

  • Sound experience of developing, implementing and evaluating successful social media campaigns.
  • Experienced in video production, editing and design skills for social media graphics and content writing.
  • Knowledge and experience of delivering socio / geotargeted communications campaigns through CAN or organically on Facebook etc.
  • Demonstrable experience in generating new and creative ideas.
  • Providing high quality digital communications advice and development to officers.
  • Experience of working effectively with others to deliver collaborative projects on time and to budget, meeting overall objectives.
  • Excellent content writer with the ability to write clear, concise and timely content, with strong organisational skills.
  • Experience of reputation management and handling high profile media issues
  • Able to work calmly and effectively under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Analytics data evaluation skills using Facebook insights and other similar tools.
  • An effective communicator able to speak and write confidently, and persuasively, including ability to deliver presentations.
  • Politically astute.
  • Keeps abreast of digital, marketing and campaign and communication developments and knows how to incorporate them into work when appropriate.
  • Understand and be committed to the Council's equal opportunities policies.
