**Patient Services Team Leader

The role of Patient Services Team Leader has been established to support the Patient Services Manager in the delivery of key team objectives as well as coaching and mentoring the administrators in this team to be able to meet agreed objectives.


The patient services department provides front and back office administration services as part of the patient pathway in delivering outpatient appointments on behalf of the NHS.

Key functions within this department include;

  • Accessing patient information from NHS Ereferral Service / Closing patient pathways on NHS E-Referral
  • Inputting data into the HealthHarmonie patient administration software's
  • Direct booking of patient appointments
  • Confirming patient appointments via telephone
  • Issuing outcome reports back to the GP
  • Onward referring patients to required NHS Trusts

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supporting Patient Services Manager in the delivery of departmental objectives through daily monitoring of departmental status
  • Submission of daily department status report to patient services manager & relevant Director
  • Coaching and mentoring of Patient Services Administrators to ensure consistent good performance inline with objectives and HealthHarmonie business code of conduct
  • Supporting Line Manager in the undertaking of HR tasks including return to works, performance reviews and disciplinaries as and when required.
  • Handling complaint call as and when required

Experience / Qualifications



  • Experience in leadership responsibilities
  • Previous experience in working to targets
  • Excellent excel skills
  • Ideally experience in communicating with staff, senior management and Directors
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
