Head of Engineering - Job Opportunity

  • Your vast experience as a growth-oriented interim CTO is essential for leading an established FinTech company with ambitious expansion plans. You will be the mastermind behind driving them to the next phase.
  • 2024 represents a pivotal growth period for this company. Consequently, you should have a track record of scaling mid-sized startups to more than double their size rapidly in the past.
  • Currently overseeing a team of 65 technical professionals, your mandate includes scaling this figure to over 200 by the end of 2024 through your strategic leadership.
  • Your oversight extends to four key departments: Infrastructure, Observability and Data, Automation, and Payments.
  • You will supervise three Engineering Managers - Head of Engineering, Head of Finance and Delivery, and Head of Implementation.
  • Prior experience in shepherding companies through multiple funding rounds and ideally to IPO is crucial for this role.
  • While the position is predominantly non-technical, a robust understanding of the technology landscape, particularly within SaaS, is essential.
  • Although hands-off technically, you should possess the capability to delve into the code and contribute to system design when necessary.
  • An ideal candidate will have demonstrated proficiency in disruptive sectors like FinTech, HealthTech, and API software platforms.
  • In addition to scaling your team from 65 to 200+, adept stakeholder and investor management skills are imperative.
  • Confidence and adeptness in the boardroom are significant attributes for fostering internal and external relationships.
  • Combining technical prowess with business acumen is non-negotiable, having navigated roles within both startup and corporate environments.
  • Expect to play a pivotal role in driving substantial growth, both in team size and financial performance, transcending the traditional managerial responsibilities.
  • Prior engagement with reputable industry giants will be a strong advantage, enhancing your credibility in this capacity.
