This is an exciting opportunity for anenthusiastic and experienced Clinical Psychologist to lead the psychologyprovision in our established Assertive Outreach (AO) team. AO supportsindividuals with longstanding experiences of psychosis and is committed todeveloping psychologically informed practice. You will develop the psychologyoffer in the team and provide clinical and operational leadership to our ClinicalAssociate Psychologist

You will be based at OSL House butwill travel county wide to see clients in their homes and local communities

The AO team is part of our PsychosisPathway. You will join an established network ofexperienced psychologists and psychological therapists committed to promoting a non-pathologising understanding ofdistress aimed at reducing stigma, promoting empowerment, and increasing socialinclusion

You will be well supported inthis rewarding role in an AO team that really values psychological perspectiveand input. We welcome applications from those ready to step up to this grade aswell as those in existing 8b posts. Training and professional development will beprioritised

There are senior Psychologists in strategicpositions within the Trust leading on our Transformation process. It is anexciting time to join us and a great place to work as a Psychologist asservices become increasingly trauma focused and formulation driven

Main duties of the job

You will receive clinical supervision and line management from the clinicalpsychologist/psychosis pathway lead

To oversee psychologicalprovision in the AO team and ensure supervision and governance systems are inplace to support our Clinical Associate Psychologist

To carry a caseload and workwithin a multi professional, recovery-oriented framework to provide specialistpsychological assessment and intervention for service users and theircarers/families

To provide supervision,consultancy and clinical support to MDT colleagues. To support colleagues touse 5P formulation and Decider Skills and to work creatively with complexpresentations

To contribute tomultidisciplinary and senior management team meetings to ensure the effectiveoperation of the teams

To work with senior colleaguesto ensure the continued provision of high quality, responsive psychologicaltherapies which support Step Up to Great Mental Health Service developmentplans and help to shape a psychologically informed service wide Psychosis Pathway

To support research, audit andevaluation and provide training. We have links with the LeicesterDClinPsy course and there will be opportunities to teach on the programme aswell as provide specialist clinical placements for Trainee Clinical Psychologists

Qualifications

Essential

DClinPsych or postgraduate equivalent in Clinical Psychology including specific models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and life span developmental psychology, as accredited by the BPS/HPC. Further specialist accredited training in a relevant aspect of psychology CBT or Systemic Family Therapy Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment intervention and management frequently requiring sustained and intense concentration. High-level knowledge of the theory and practice of at least two specialised psychological therapies.

Experience

Essential

Experience of the specialist psychological assessment and treatment of psychosis across a range of care settings, including outpatient, community, primary care and in or day patient units. Demonstrates understanding and practical application of skills and knowledge involving a minimum of 50 hours clinical supervision of working as a specialist clinical psychologist, or an alternative agreed by the Head of Speciality Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary and multi- agency setting
