This position involves engineering, automating, implementing, and managing new technologies related to perimeter security, DMZs, firewalls, proxies, vulnerability scanning, and Network access control (NAC).
Responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of network security throughout the technology stack to uphold the Information Security Program (ISP).
The team promotes a collaborative environment and is establishing a top-notch program to collaborate with the business in safeguarding the Firm's information and computer systems.
Millennium operates in a sophisticated and resilient technical landscape, placing utmost importance on securing the Firm against both external and internal threats.
Principal Responsibilities- Lead, implement, and supervise key network security controls to ensure a strong security posture across perimeter networks.
- Assure execution of network security best practices through audits of router, change control, switch, and firewall configurations.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of current risks and threats to network infrastructure and perimeter at both technical and managerial levels.
- Provide security consulting and engineering assistance for the Security Operations Infosec team.
- Introduce automation in perimeter security technologies to address vulnerabilities, identify gaps, and establish alerts and reports.
- Work with stakeholders to develop and enforce Network Security policies across various departments.
- Utilize gathered intelligence to enhance defense capabilities against future attacks and intrusions.
- Conduct regular system audits and vulnerability assessments to pinpoint security vulnerabilities.
- Oversee remediation efforts for any identified gaps in audits, penetration tests, or recommended enhancements.
- Support smooth transition from Engineering to Production and offer mentorship to junior security professionals.
- Develop and maintain documentation of Security products, tools, and processes.
- Participate in Information Security Incident Response activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering preferred.
- 5+ years' technical experience with a focus on network and information security in the financial industry.
- Hands-on experience with firewall configuration management and auditing, Next Generation Firewalls, Load-Balancers, intrusion detection/prevention platforms, Network detection and Response, and Network Access Control.
- Proxy Engineer experience with a solid grasp of Proxy technologies.
- Good knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, Wi-Fi, virtualization, and other infrastructural components.
- Proficiency in network sniffers and packet capture tools for analysis and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of routing protocols and Cloud Services.
- Programming and scripting skills, preferably in Python, Powershell, or Shell scripting.
- Familiarity with SIEM platforms such as Qradar, Splunk, or ELK.
- Ability to prioritize in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- At least one security certification (CISSP, GCIA, CISM, etc.).
