The Role:

  • Reporting to the Desktop Team Manager
  • Ensuring a consistent, smooth and efficient warehouse operation through optimal IT system availability
  • Flexible working hours with a requirement to work additional hours when required and being part of the oncall rota to provide support.
  • Identify & manage IT issues, determining criticality & communicating those priorities to nonIT literate users clearly whilst under pressure
  • Investigate and prioritize requests for support, raised by users
  • Provide cover for other team members and ad hoc duties when requested by Management.

Technical Experience:

  • Networking technologies
  • Extreme & Cisco


 Server Architecture
  • Windows & Linux
  • Experience of citrix (desired but not essential)
  • Desktop PC's, thin clients & printers
  • Active directory
  • Experience of configuring PI's (desired but not essential)
  • Warehouse Management System exposure
  • Hand Held/Wrist mounted Data Terminal Configuration
  • Ability to work with internal support teams and 3rd party service providers to anticipate and resolve issues in order to deliver a continuously improving service proposition to customers.
  • Ability to work as a team with mínimal supervision and prioritize own work effectively.
  • User management and Windows Server roles including Active Directory
  • Firewall configuration and support (desired but not essential)

The Person:

  • Must have experience of working in flexible fastpaced environment with a cando approach to resolving issues
  • Varied experience in an automatedwarehouse environment utilizing the warehouse management systems would be a distinct advantage.
  • Technical experience with citrix platforms & exposure to Linux based systems advantageous but not essential.
  • Be capable of working individually and as part of a team, whilst identifying & escalating problems when appropriate.
Delivering excellence to customers (both external and internal) is of paramount importance. You must be able to retain a positive 'can do' attitude at all times.
