Workshop Technician

RPS has an opening for a Workshop Technician to join the Maintenance Hub as part of their Wastewater team. Based on site at Clevedon, Bristol, this is a permanent role working Monday to Friday (typically 40 hrs per week). The salary for this role starts at £25,046 per annum (depending on experience) plus benefits of 20 days holiday and 8 additional bank holidays.

What you'll be doing

Following in-house training, the successful applicant will be required to:

·Calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair surveying instruments

·Measure and adjust voltages to specified values to determine the operational accuracy of instruments

·Adjust, repair, or replace electronic component parts to correct defects and to ensure conformance and calibration to manufacturers' specifications; may involve some soldering

·Cleaning parts, using environmentally safe cleaning solutions, air hoses, and cloths

·Marking and tagging equipment to ensure stock inventory can be tracked and identified, and updating our asset database

·Booking equipment in/out as and when required for contracts

·Maintenance Hub support to field teams regarding the operation of equipment/faults and other general tasks

Who we're looking for

·Basic Electrical knowledge; with some basic soldering experience

·Team player, who enjoys working as part of a team with a can-do attitude

·Commitment to working safely with good health and safety awareness

·Good communication skills

·Computer literacy, including the use of Microsoft Word and Excel

·Physically able to undertake all duties required (lifting/carrying survey equipment);

·A full UK clean driving license is preferable
