JOB DESCRIPTION



Wood is looking for an Operations Technician to join their team mobilizing from Humberside, working on a 2/3 rotation. This is an initial 12-month opportunity with the possibility of extension.


Operating a variety of offshore process and utilities equipment and systems while prioritizing safety and adhering to Centrica Company and regulatory standards.


Equipment handled includes gas production systems, condensate and water separation systems, wells, power generation, DCS, fire and gas systems, ESD systems, and platform utilities.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reports directly to the Operations Supervisor
  • Monitor the DCS & F&G/ESD control systems, ensuring safe and efficient plant operation in compliance with Centrica procedures
  • Respond to F&G/ESD alarms, and manage platform status changes or emergencies.
  • Control hydrocarbon flows and plant conditions, report malfunctions, and recommend necessary adjustments.
  • Prepare plant/equipment for maintenance, and perform re-commissioning/re-start activities.
  • Support Operations Supervisor in the PTW process for isolations
  • Utilize operational experience to enhance work planning processes and assist with permit verification walks.
  • Act as Deputy for Operations Supervisor as PTW Issuing Authority when needed.
  • Maintain field and plant flows to platform specifications.
  • Monitor plant operations, identify abnormal situations, and take suitable actions.
  • Conduct site and gas checks before starting work.
  • Assist in plant shutdowns and start-ups.
  • Implement safety protocols to recover plant from shutdowns efficiently.
  • Perform process system sampling, plant inspections, isolations, gas tests, and more.
  • Ensure all production reporting requirements are met.
  • Provide detailed shift handovers using appropriate logs and procedures.

Contribute to safety programs and embody the company's safety culture.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrate strong self/team leadership and analytical skills
  • Effective problem-solving abilities and the capacity to influence at all levels
  • Demonstrate proven communication skills
  • HNC or equivalent in Operations, engineering, or Safety qualifications
  • Prior experience in Offshore Oil and Gas or Onshore Oil and Gas processing preferred
  • Hold BOSIET/MIST certifications
