ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
The Woodland Trust is a leading woodland conservation charity in the UK. Our vision is to witness a world where trees and woods flourish for both people and nature. We engage and motivate individuals to make a difference in addressing the nature and climate challenges by safeguarding, reviving, and establishing crucial woods and trees.

THE POSITION
The Head of Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) is responsible for enhancing the Woodland Trust's diversity and inclusion action plan to enhance progress and influence across our four primary areas of success. This role involves delivering credible and inspirational leadership to consistently assess and execute key priorities concerning leadership and culture. Expertise, constructive criticism, and assistance will be offered to the Executive Team and other senior leaders.

The role entails examining and challenging existing methodologies, behaviors, and mindsets to foster greater inclusivity. Additionally, it will involve endorsing and fostering the Trusts network of Inclusion Allies to promote awareness of D&I and best practices throughout the broader organization. Tracking metrics and crucial performance indicators to evaluate effectiveness will allow the postholder to update various stakeholders. Our Hybrid Working Policy provides flexibility, with the amount of time spent in your designated office varying according to teams and roles.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
You should harbor a strong passion for diversity and inclusion and be prepared to instigate positive transformations within an organization, drawing on your familiarity with current trends and regulations. Your outstanding communication abilities will be indispensable when deliberating on the Trusts goals and objectives concerning D&I with diverse stakeholders.

Ideally, you possess experience in actively participating in the implementation of novel concepts or procedures on a large scale and can leverage data and analytics to steer decision-making processes. Furthermore, evidence of personal or professional growth linked to this role is preferred.

Our Organizational Culture enables us to gain deeper insights into what it signifies to be part of the Woodland Trust, empowering us to make a difference daily. We encourage you to exemplify our values; 'Grow Together', 'Focus', 'Explore', and 'Make it Count' to ensure each of us contributes to safeguarding, reviving, and establishing our woods and trees.

WHAT TO ANTICIPATE BY JOINING OUR TEAM AND MAKING AN IMPACT
The Woodland Trust stands apart from other organizations. By joining our team, you will actively contribute to addressing the nature and climate crisis. In turn, we acknowledge and appreciate our staff. You will benefit from our complete backing, training, professional growth opportunities, a contributory pension, life assurance, generous holiday entitlement, and the chance to work flexibly from home.

OUR DEDICATION TO DIVERSITY & INCLUSION
At the Woodland Trust, we strive to mirror and embody the full spectrum of diversity in the UK. We are keen to receive applications from individuals who are underrepresented in our workforce. We are committed to supporting your needs to unlock your full potential at any stage of the process. Your suitability for the job is the sole criterion for evaluating your application.
