Deputy Manager (Team Leader) Children's Residential

Your New Company

My client is a successful children's residential setting in Ebbw Vale, recruiting for full time team leaders (equivalent to deputy manager) to support children/young people aged to 8-18 with emotional behaviour disorder and/or autism.

This setting is consideredfun and active, also considered settled, and focuses on nurturing independence and mental wellbeing.

It is a small home and requires consistency and creativeness to provide excellent care around the clock on a permanent, full time basis.

Shift patterns are based on 2 days in home, and 3 days off with sleeps, and scope for overtime.

This is a home, with a warm atmosphere and requires likeminded, motivated, and compassionate support workers to continue to provide outstanding care to its children.

Your new role
Engage in fulfilling activities
Liaising with families and support workers to ensure the best possible independent care plans are provided and carried out
Proactive approach to education and activity to improve key skills and self confidence.
Ensure clear communication with individuals via a range of methods and inspire them to carry out any tasks.
Engage in individual's transitioning periods by nurturing them to become a functioning member of wider society
To make and maintain accurate records of activities and tasks carried out, including any incidents that may occur
Carry out general housekeeping duties, which includes elements of personal care
Comply with GDPR and Health and Safety regulations Shifts are 2 days in, 3 days off.

What you'll need to succeed
Driving Licence - essential
Experience within the care sector is desirable but not essential
QCF/ NVQ L3 Is Essential
An understanding of ACES and County Lines
Understanding of Children's Safeguarding legislation and human rights
Creativity and willingness to think of new and engaging ideas
Resilience, self-motivation and the enthusiasm to engage with active young people
Excellent communication skills
Teamwork skills
Ability to navigate a challenging situation
DBS on the Update service is a bonus for swifter onboarding
