Specialist surveying practice seeks MRICS qualified Quantity Surveyor for specialist role within their corporate advisory team to assist with succession planning.


  • The role involves advising claimants on how to deal with construction insolvency and adjusting losses generally following termination of a building contract due to breach.
  • Claims can range in value from £15,000 to £30 million and occur throughout the UK & Ireland.
  • Claims are handled on JCT, NEC, FIDIC forms.
  • Sectors include schools, housing, offices, industrial, renovation, open cast mine restoration, motorway although most are JCT type building contracts.
  • Claims are evaluated for loss and expense and extensions of time, although our client does employ inhouse experts on these.

About you:

  • Claims are not plentiful but are of great quality and demand the greatest care and attention.
  • Good report writing skills are essential.
  • Reports can be anywhere from 5 to 25 pages long and are unique to every situation.
Basic salary up to £65,000 plus car, bonus, pension, private medical care and 25 days annual holiday.
