Overview:


Cheshire East Young Person's Service are a specialist support service for young people primarily aged up to 25 in relation to substance use.

An exciting vacancy has arisen to join the innovative Young People's team.

Responsibilities:

Hidden Harm Worker.

The primary focus of this role is to work with children and young people who are impacted by a family member's substance misuse by delivering a programme of interventions.

Our aim is to build resilience and minimise the impact of parental or other family member's substance misuse.

The role includes 1-1 work and also developing/delivering group work packages.

You will also provide brief support and advice to parents, carers and partner agencies as well as delivering specialist training to professionals.


In order to undertake the role, you will possess excellent engagement skills alongside the ability to work in partnership with other services.

You will have experience and knowledge of working with children and young people and an understanding of issues facing those affected by someone else's drug and alcohol use.


We will also require you to have a good working knowledge and understanding of safeguarding concerns in relation to children and young people.

Your base can be at either of our offices, we have offices in Macclesfield and Crewe.

The role will involve travel around the county, seeing our Young People in schools, youth hubs or at their homes.
