Groundsperson Job specification
We are currently recruiting for a committed, flexible and adaptable individual to join the
Gardening team at Oxnead Hall as a Groundsperson. Successful shortlisting for interview will be based on meeting the essential criteria in the job description and person specification.

We are ideally looking for a good team worker with a flexible attitude, who resonates with our organisation's values and behaviours in order to help us shape the future of Oxnead Hall.

To be successful you will need to have the following skills:

• Excellent horticultural skills
• Grounds maintenance skills
• Horticultural machinery operational skills
• Experience of use of related tools and machinery
• Experience of working in small teams to deliver high quality maintenance work.
• Good knowledge of workplace Health and Safety.
• Good communication skills both verbal and written.
• Experience in operating lawn machinery and general grounds maintenance tools
• Good organisational skills and able to plan your own work if necessary.

Additional Information

Applicants will need to be able to deal with the physical requirements of the role and must hold a current, valid driving licence which would allow you to drive in the U.K.

• Grass cutting (Rideon and pedestrian)
• Lawn maintenance tasks, such as aeration and scarification
• Moss and thatch control
• Herbicide Application
• General garden maintenance leaf clearance, strimming, weeding, and hedge cutting
• General assistance to the Gardening and maintenance team.

Requirements:

• NVQ or similar horticultural qualification
• Previous greenkeeping/lawn care
• Current full driving licence
• Practical skills to use equipment like strimmers, mowers, sprayers and hand tools.
• Physical fitness
• Able to work at moderate height

This is a Part time role, working days will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Out of season hours may vary slightly.

8am - 4.30pm (24 hours)

£12per hour
