Serco has an exciting opportunity for experienced Administrators to join their team at the Defence Academy in Shrivenham, Swindon. The Course Administration department is currently undergoing a transformation project to enhance service delivery, and the Defence College for Military Capability Integration Team is implementing a holistic approach to support project success. Lead Administrators play a key role in this initiative, focusing on promotion, planning, and delivery across the Defence Academy.
Serco at the Defence Academy provides Facilities Management across all aspects of the site including Estates, Logistics, Supporting Services, Cleaning, Catering, and Waste Management through ESS.
Duties for the role:
- Taking a proactive role within the department and being fully conversant with daily tasks.
- Liaising and attending customer & key stakeholder meetings.
- Providing administrative support for the Intermediate Command and Staff Course (Land) (ICSC(L)) and Intermediate Command and Staff Course (Land Reserves) (ICSC(LR)) including US ARNG and United Stated Strategic Broadening Seminar (US SBS) courses.
- Coordinating and preparing Student arrivals and departures.
- Arranging course-related travel.
- Performing data entry using various platforms.
- Liaising with external military and civilian institutions to gather relevant data.
- Cross-skilling to support the wider team.
- Mentoring and coaching new starters.
- Managing Work Instructions.
What you need to do the job:
- GCSE's (A-C) or equivalent in English and Maths.
- Sound understanding of GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).
- Ability to use a variety of communication methods (spoken, written, behavior).
- Must be methodical, have proven organizational skills, and able to work under pressure.
- Problem-solving skills are essential.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- PC literacy is essential, with a good level of experience in MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel.
- Enhanced clearance within the first 3 months of employment is required.
