Overview:

We are looking for a skilled MCR (Master Control Room) Engineer to join our team on a 6-12 month contract. The ideal candidate should have experience with uplinks and downlinks in a fast-paced, ad-hoc environment. Your role will be vital in ensuring smooth broadcast and media services, maintaining our reputation for delivering top-notch content to our audience.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and oversee Broadcast Operations:
    • Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Master Control Room.
    • Ensure uninterrupted transmission of broadcast signals.
    • Manage multiple uplinks and downlinks, ensuring optimal signal quality.

Technical Support and Troubleshooting:

  • Provide immediate technical support for any transmission issues.
  • Diagnose and resolve problems related to signal quality and broadcast equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance and updates on broadcast systems and equipment.

Coordination and Communication:

  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth broadcast operations.
  • Communicate effectively with content providers, satellite operators, and stakeholders.
  • Respond quickly to ad-hoc broadcast requirements and changes.

Compliance and Quality Control:

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct quality control checks to uphold broadcast quality.
  • Maintain detailed records of broadcast activities, incidents, and resolutions.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Extensive experience in a Master Control Room environment.
    • Knowledge of uplink and downlink technologies and operations.
    • Proficiency with broadcast equipment, signal monitoring, and transmission systems.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work well under pressure.
    • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
    • Adaptability to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Professional Experience:
    • Proven track record in a broadcast and media service provider.
    • Experience with ad-hoc broadcast operations and live events.
    • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in broadcast technology.
  • Educational Requirements:
    • Degree in Broadcast Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred.
    • Relevant certifications in broadcast technology and operations are a plus.
