Mechanical Design Engineer

  • Producing a variety of system, sub assembly and general arrangement drawings using 2D CAD or 3D Inventor.
  • Consider design for manufacturing principles on both new and existing product lines.
  • Producing pipe and instrumentation diagrams and BoM's to support project execution.
  • Maintaining technical construction files and liaise with project managers to ensure all issues are closed swiftly.
  • Maintaining drawings to the correct issue, ensuring amendments are carried out and managed effectively.
  • Identify parts for use on equipment, ensuring parts are selected from the list of approved products where possible.
  • Maintain technical file structures and systems to ISO and company standards.
  • Provide design support to Manufacturing, R&D and sales.

Mechanical Design Engineer

Essential Skills/Experience/Qualification Required:

  • Mechanical Engineering Qualification.
  • Working experience using CAD software packages (ideally Autodesk Inventor).
  • Experience within an engineering industry e.g., plant & equipment, process, bespoke and material handling.
  • Proactive and able to work to tight deadlines.
  • Clean driving licence.
  • FEA experience.
  • Able to understand technical programming language.

Desirable Skills/Experience/Qualification Required:

  • Previous experience with hydraulic calculations
  • Experience in an R&D environment
