Working out of Taunton but also field based
We are looking to recruit a Health & Safety Advisor, you'll be based in Taunton but will visiting the residents and teams in the care homes as well as supporting the office based teams.
You'll be a positive and collaborative individual to and much of your responsibilities will be to support the H&S side of the business to meet the legal standards required and make sure all the teams are supported.

Duties as a Health & Safety Advisor:
- Ensure that Health and Safety obligations and aims are met
- Building and maintaining productive relationships with stakeholders to influence and promote good H&S practice
- Providing advice, support and guidance to managers and colleagues to ensure their understanding of key Health and Safety policies and procedures are correct and up to date.
- Dealing with reports and project activities which will include maintaining action plans
- Maintaining understanding and knowledge of current relevant legislation
- Working with the Learning and Development teams to provide health and safety training
- Working closely with and contributing to the Health & Safety Sub Committee
- Arranging visits for inspections by statutory agencies
- Supporting operational managers with incident investigations and reports
About you
- Experience working in a Health & Safety environment/role
- NEBOSH National General Certificate / TechIOSH is a minimum requirement
- Experience in the care sector is desirable
- Good communication skills which show an understanding of how to engage with key stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes, including influencing/coaching skills and an ability to develop managers and their team's approach to safety
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- A keen eye for detail
- A good knowledge of audit
- As this role required the post holder to visit our care homes and offices, a full UK driving license and their own transport is essential.
