Hotel Manager

We're on the lookout for a superstar Hotel Manager to join our team at No.1 York, to lead our hotel from the front.

You'll be joining a hotel which can boast: -

As our new Hotel Manager, you'll care for the hotel ensuring all operational aspects of No.1 (Rooms, Pearly Cow Restaurant and Spa) all operate as per company guidelines and that our image and reputation is upheld and strengthened. To lead by example, setting the tone and pattern of behaviour which is representative of our brand identity and core values.

A brief taster of what a typical day may look like in this role includes...

  • Embed and support the development of the GuestHouse, Pearly Cow & Spa culture across all teams.
  • Support on the delivery of our agreed strategy, deliverables and KPIs for the hotel, on time and to budget.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operational running of the hotel, ensuring compliance with brand standards, health & safety and local regulations, all whilst bringing your own special flare and passion.
  • Work with our group commercial team to support sales, marketing and revenue initiatives and ensure a joined-up approach.
  • Continue to keep No.1 York as the number one hotel on Trip Advisor for the city of York.
  • Ensure team morale is kept high with a big emphasis on development and succession planning.

More about you:

So, what does it take to be our new Hotel Manager? You must want to be the best at what you do. Be proud of doing things the right way, even when no one is looking. In other words, be:

  • 2+ Years of ideally living in or around the York/North Yorkshire area, or some with exemplary local knowledge and an expansive network.
  • A minimum of 3 years leading a busy food and beverage operation ideally from a high-end, high-volume function.
  • Some experience of working with the room aspect of the business.
  • Involvement of working with and developing a team of passionate hospitality professionals.
  • Clear ability to read, understand and decipher financial information.
  • Hard working and driven.
  • Have a genuine passion for hospitality and looking after people.
  • Be a real team player. That one is a non-negotiable
