About the Company
At Playground Games, we're all in when it comes to creating games that are not just fun, but also accessible and visually stunning. Our team is currently reviving the beloved Fable series and we're on the lookout for passionate individuals to help us craft a new legend in the action RPG realm.
About the Role
If you're the chosen one for this role, you'll be the link between our dedicated players and the developers, ensuring that player feedback is not only heard but acted upon. Your tasks will include engaging with players on different platforms, organizing events, creating captivating content for newsletters and social media, and analyzing community feedback to drive improvements. The ideal Community Director is well-versed in how gaming communities operate, excels in transparent communication, can tackle online challenges, boosts player involvement, and fosters an inclusive environment.
This is a full-time position based in our cutting-edge facility in Royal Leamington Spa, offering a mix of remote and in-office work. We're ready to assist with relocation if needed.
What You'll Do
- Use your deep knowledge of gaming communities to understand player preferences and concerns, advocating for their needs in the development process.
- Employ excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with players through newsletters, social media, and other platforms.
- Create and implement strategic plans for community engagement, including event planning and content management.
- Utilize analytics tools to monitor community engagement metrics and optimize strategies.
- Show a strong passion for gaming and stay updated on industry trends.
- Lead and mentor a team of community specialists, ensuring they meet their goals.
What You'll Bring
- Minimum of 5+ years in communications or community roles in the gaming or entertainment sector.
- At least 3+ years leading community teams for major brands or entertainment franchises.
- Proven track record in managing large community programs, including collaborations with influencers and content creators.
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication and experience in managing content across various platforms.
- Experience working with internal teams, external partners, and influencers to achieve common goals.
- Knowledge of gaming culture, industry trends, and popular titles.
- Strong copywriting skills and ability to maintain a consistent brand voice.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field.
- Experience representing games to the community on camera.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as needed.
