The Role - Copywriter:

We are currently looking for an experience Copywriter to join our Digital team.


Digital audience is an imperative for our entire business (not just online), as an overwhelming majority of customer journeys in the sector start online to research and understand product options, before choosing to purchase.


Daily responsibilities include:

  • Creation of informative, engaging, and compliant product description copy for new products by incorporating Bensons's tone of voice.
  • Improving and updating existing product description copy to be current, compliant and search engine optimised
  • Creation of FAQs and answers for product pages, using research for what users search for on search engines like Google
  • Support product related initiatives such as copy for product listing pages and articles
  • Work with other teams to gather information required for copy i.e. new products
  • Work closely with wider teams (Digital Trading, Buying, Product, Marketing, Legal) to ensure product content is prioritised in line with new product development, worded with regulations and compliance taken into consideration and optimised for search engine performance using techniques such as internal linking


This is a full time role, requiring 37.5 hours per week, working Mon-Fri typically 9-5pm based in Accrington 2 office days required per week (Monday/Tuesday) and the rest can be worked remotely if preferred.


Skills needed:

We are looking for an experienced Copywriter with the following skills, experience and attributes to be successful in this role:

  • Previous experience in an ecommerce copywriting role
  • Passionate about copywriting that drives results
  • Ability to prioritise and manage own workload alongside multiple deadlines
  • Excellent time management
  • Keen to demonstrate a joinedup approach working with wider internal stakeholders
  • Experience in uploading and formatting content within website platforms/content management systems/PIMs
  • Basic HTML writing/understanding
  • Experience with copywriting with external regulations in mind
  • Experience in SEO keyword research for optimising copy
