My client is looking to recruit a Textile Operative to join their small production team creating high quality knitwear items.
The primary aspect of this role is as aSteam Press and Wash/Dry Operator, in addition to 2 further sub roles comprising of but not limited to
Folding and Bagging garments and
Garmatic (early-stage quality control)
You should also be comfortable working to deadlines; happily manage a physically active role, have an expert eye for detail and have a passion for getting a job done perfectly whilst working collaboratively with all members of the team to achieve all targets.
Hybrid Primary Role - Steam Press and Wash/Dry Operator
- Pressing garments to size & shape on a flat steam press.
- Understanding how to achieve required measurements & wash finishes with different fabrics and colours which can behave differently from each other.
- Selecting correct sized frames for new garments.
- Checking sizing is correct by using a 10point checking system and spec sheets.
- Washing & Drying garments.
Hybrid Sub Role - Folding and Bagging
- Checking sizing is correct.
- Attaching a swing tag to the garments neck label as per the specifications.
- Attaching barcode stickers to the swing tag and the bag.
- Folding and bagging the garment to a high visual standard.
- Ensuring garments are kept in order and not mixed up.
- Assist in preparing orders ready for dispatch.
Hybrid Sub Role - Garmatic
- Removing waste yarn from the garment.
- Using a light box to identify if there are any faults in the garment.
- Marking faults in garments and moved to mending area.
- Moving garment forward in production if completely satisfied there are no faults.
Main Accountabilities
- Responsible for ensuring RFT (Right First time) is kept at the required level during the production process.
- Meeting required timings per process so that delivery of the production plan in the section you are working is achieved.
- Working to the schedule, completing work in the required order
Maintenance of machinery
- Watching out for any issues or faults and reporting these immediately.
- Selecting correct tools to meet required standards. Understanding different fabric properties so that the correct treatments are selected to give required results.
Pay:
£12.00-£12.50 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
