This Senior Pensions Administrator will report to the Pensions Project Manager and will work within our Pensions, Human Resources directorate based in our Crawley, Energy House location.

You will be a permanent employee.

You will attract a salary of £30,000 and a bonus of CiP/Bonus Level of 7.5%

Job Purpose:


You will be responsible for a broad range of complex and technical pension administration tasks in addition to contributing to the daily operations of the UK Power Networks Pensions department.

We will look for the role holder to have a pensions technical and data management bias.

You will be committed to developing the performance of the team and will work with other team members on training to ensure continuous improvement.


Dimensions:

The in-house Pension Department consists of thirteen staff that provide administration, governance, policy and strategy services to the company and trustees of the UK Power Networks sponsored pension arrangements

UK Power Networks sponsor two final salary pension arrangements ("UKPNPS" and "ESPS"). You will work with several suppliers and consultants in the delivery of their services.

UK Power Networks also sponsors a Group Personal Pension (GPP) held with Aegon.

You will also have some involvement in collaborating with the GPP provider to provide a quality service to UK Power Networks employees.


Main Accountabilities:

Operational

Some of the important responsibilities will include:
To ensure work is produced within compliance deadlines and agreed service levels.

To assist the Pensions Project Manager with regards to the management of membership data issues required for delivering Pension Services projects.

To assist the Projects Team in both regular monthly and regular annual tasks. Such as annual benefit statements, pension increases, and data preparation, data analysis, and validations for our companies GPP.

To peer review and have responsibility for the accuracy of standard and complex written correspondence and produce more complex free-format written correspondence in response to queries.

To respond to and take ownership for complex customer, service provider queries.
To peer review and have responsibility for the accuracy standard and complex manual calculations for senior and executive employees.
To assist if required in the planning and organising the work of workstreams with management.
To be conversant with the company standard procedures.
To recommend the implementation of improvements in the processing of work.
To check and be responsible for system-generated (or electronic) generated calculations for distribution to members and beneficiaries.
To perform complex manual calculations and produce quotations for distributions to members.
To manage the reconciliation of the databases.
To arrange and manage the settlement of benefits observing prescribed procedures and timescales.

To look at ways in which processes can be improved and to guide / manage the implementation of these topics.

To develop and contribute to processes and procedure improvement
To monitor the amount of work errors and assist management in the analysing trends
To arrange for the settlement of benefits following prescribed authorisation protocols, procedures and timescales.

People Management

To coach team members in all work situations and facilitate or arrange training.
To assist the management in supervising the performance of team members, setting targets and meeting Service Level Agreements.

Customer/Client

To deal with telephone enquiries, about the pension arrangements, whilst maintaining strict confidence about individuals' private information.
To follow the service levels standards
To ensure that any issues are raised with a Manager at the earliest opportunity.

Self Development

To ensure that knowledge is kept up to date in accordance with your role requirements and future development.

Technical Projects

To undertake and manage projects.
To deal with other ad hoc tasks as requested and prioritising within ongoing responsibilities.
To take a leading role with the Pensions System / Development Manager in managing operational projects.

Technical/Knowledge Requirements
