Who you'll be supporting & more about the role:

We deliver creative, dynamic and person-centred service to 2 young men in their own homes at Varrich Crescent (Ness Castle) Inverness.

Each person we support have very different support needs and we have tailored care and support plans to meet their needs.

As a team we work collaboratively to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and aspirations outcomes/goals of the people we support are met.

The people we support have many varied interests and hobbies and have many of the same dreams and aspirations as we do.

As a Support Worker you will help to organise and participate in activities.

The young men enjoy activities such as swimming, horse riding, football, trampolining, going to the cinema, walking and keeping fit and much more.

You will support people to participate and develop a range of life skills such as:

- cooking, cleaning, managing finances, supporting with personal hygiene, scheduling & attending appointments, meal planning and shopping.

The people we support have a range of communication difficulties and at times may exhibit extreme challenging behaviours. Support workers need to be resilient and have an empathic approach and nature.

You should have the ability to remain calm in a crisis and be able to reflect on your own practice and learning.

You need to have the ability to form positive relationships with people we support, colleagues, guardians, families, and other professionals.

You need to have a good understanding of discrimination and health and wellbeing issues.
