Job Purpose:

To work with people in Lincoln who are homeless, rough sleeping and vulnerable, helping them to identify their support and housing needs and assisting them to access appropriate services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To make contact with the identified client group through both outreach work and direct referrals including selfreferrals.
  • To undertake joint assessments with other team members and other agencies where appropriate.
  • Provide highquality support and advice to clients that focuses on their strengths and goals, and is delivered in a way that suits them and within a framework of active engagement and positive person centred planning.
  • To deal with the immediate support needs of clients as appropriate, providing crisis intervention where necessary.
  • To challenge disruptive or unacceptable behaviour in a sympathetic and assertive way, balancing the needs of the individual with responsibilities for the safety of the service
  • To keep abreast of current housing legislation, welfare benefit legislation and other matters relevant to successful support and resettlement of clients.
  • To carry out premises inspections, and health and safety inspections and tests
    , ensuring prompt and accurate record keeping and appropriate follow up of issues.

Person Specification:

  • Experience of helping vulnerable people to identify personal goals and supporting them through a process of change.
  • Experience of maintaining effective records and using office systems/procedures.
  • Experience of managing complex and difficult situations in relation to people.
  • Ability to develop working relationships with a wide range of people.
  • Ability to maintain enthusiasm for a high level of contact with clients on a day to day basis and a nonjudgemental approach to working with homeless people.
  • Resilience and Organisation Skills.
  • Ability to deal with challenging behaviours.
  • Understanding of safeguarding for our residents and a commitment to safe practice.

Salary:
Grade B2; £22,021

Hours:

Shift Pattern (three on, three off - 12 hours shifts)
