AI Research Engineer

Surrey, England (Approximately 15 miles from Central London) - On-site at least 3 days a week

IC Resources is seeking a dedicated AI Research Engineer holding a recently finished PhD (less than 2 years) or close to completion. The perfect AI Research Engineer should possess profound knowledge in Multimodal Foundation Models, with a focus on domains like Visual Language Models, Large Language Models, Vision Transformers, and Diffusion Models.

This position provides the chance to witness your research utilized worldwide in practical consumer goods and become part of a well-established research team concentrating on on-device AI technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion innovative research to craft cutting-edge solutions and suggest creative research tasks in Multimodal AI
  • Create top-notch, well-documented code to back reproducible research within local and global AI research communities
  • Present research discoveries in premier conferences and periodicals, such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, AAAI, ACL, STOC, IEEE TPAMI, IEEE TNNLS, IEEE TSP, IEEE TIP, Information Fusion, JAIR, IJRR, IJCV, and JMLR

Essential Experience:

  • Present PhD candidate or recent alum in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a similar discipline
  • Proficiency in core mathematical concepts (calculus, probability, statistics, linear algebra, optimization) and computer science principles (algorithms, data structures, parallel/distributed computing)
  • Experience with general-purpose programming languages like Python, Java, C, and C++.
  • At least one lead-author piece in esteemed conferences or periodicals, encompassing NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, AAAI, EMNLP, ACL, IEEE TPAMI, IEEE TNNLS, IJCV, or JMLR.
  • Proven research output in Multimodal Foundation Models, particularly in Visual Language Models, Large Language Models, Vision Transformers, or Diffusion Models.

Desired Experience:

  • Familiarity with software libraries and platforms such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, SciKits, Kaldi, OpenCV, and CUDA.
  • Background in software engineering and development.
  • Pertinent experience from internships or research roles in academic or industrial R&D labs.
  • Capability to draft and execute a comprehensive research schedule.
