About the role


Under the leadership and management of the IWS Team Manager the Access Assessor is the first response for Adult Social Care receiving referrals, information requests and concerns from the public, other professionals and external agencies via a variety of media.

The Assessor's role is to gather information and assess people's eligible social care needs through discussion to decide the best next steps.

The best next steps could be information and advice, signposting, re-enablement or assessment, including responding to safeguarding alerts.

We are recruiting for 2 full time (37 hours) vacancies but would consider part-time.

The team is made of different professionals, is busy and vibrant with a positive working environment where staff are offered regular support, supervision and training, as well as the opportunity to work in a developing and responsive culture.

The location/work-base for these roles are Dolcoath and Camborne however our evolving ways of working means that the role may require you to also work remotely (e.g. from home/other locations).

This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies.

About you


You will need a good telephone manner, excellent active listening, strong oral and written communication skills, and evidence of negotiation, empathy and diplomacy.

You will need to be self motivated with the ability to prioritise, work under pressure and stay focused in this demanding environment.
