OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
We are in search of a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our faculty as the Curriculum Director (Head of Department) for the Languages, Arts, and Humanities (LAH) faculty. This middle leadership role is pivotal in shaping the academic direction and success of our LAH programs including A-levels, University Foundation Programme (UFP), IGCSE, and Pre-A-Level, which include a diverse range of subjects such as Art, English Literature, Academic English courses (IELTS, CAE & FCE), history, politics and cultural & creative studies.

Additionally, you may serve as a Form (Personal) Tutor, offering guidance and support to students beyond the classroom.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Academic Leadership:
Overall Responsibility: Oversee all aspects of teaching and learning within the LAH faculty.
Teaching Commitment: Teach up to 15 hours per week across various programs in your subject specialism.
Curriculum Development: Ensure an engaging and inspiring curriculum.
Quality Assurance: Maintain high teaching and learning standards, complete QAD (Quality Assurance Diary) as directed.
Evaluation and Improvement: Conduct annual self-evaluation and complete PEPR (Public Exam Performance Review) reports.
Learning Walks: Perform learning walks to identify areas of strength and areas of development.
Professional Development: Contribute to staff CPD (Continuous Professional Development training programs.
Assessment and Reporting: Oversee effective assessment, tracking, and reporting.
Independent Study: Set and mark independent study assignments.
Annual Planning: Assist in College Development Plan formulation and monitoring.
Examination Management: Organise examination entries and ensure proper assessment arrangements.
Enrichment Activities: Organize extracurricular activities to enhance learning.
Targeted Programs: Support programs for targeted students.
Scheme of Work (SoW): Ensure consistent implementation and improvement of SoWs.
Behaviour and Attendance: Support implementation of behaviour and attendance policies.
Activity Clubs: Contribute to the School's activity clubs.
University Preparation: Support students in university entry preparation.

Staff Management:
Performance Monitoring: Monitor staff performance and provide support.
Quality Assurance: Ensure quality assurance of academic reports.
Higher Education Support: Oversee Higher Education support.
Meetings and Induction: Chair faculty meetings and oversee new staff induction.
Student Support: Coordinate additional provisions for students.
Staffing Management: Ensure appropriate staffing levels and monitor absences.
Performance Reviews: Conduct annual performance reviews for faculty members.
Use of Technology: Promote effective use of technology by teaching staff.
