Job Description

We are seeking a Cash Accountant to join our LGIM Team in Cardiff.

The role involves conducting key control tasks to maintain a robust financial control framework within the LGIM Finance function. Responsibilities include managing and controlling corporate cashbooks and other balance sheet accounts.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Reconciling data between the Custodian cash portal and our internal Scope system, addressing and reporting any discrepancies to internal teams for resolution.
  • Calculating daily liquidity to assist the Global trading team in making deposit decisions and ensuring the remaining balance stays within acceptable limits.
  • Reconciling weekly dealt trades on both weekly and monthly bases, and daily trades on a day-to-day basis.
  • Ensuring accurate posting of journals in the Sun financial reporting ledgers.
  • Implementing controls for all team functions and maintaining up-to-date supporting documentation.
  • Keeping the monthly Management Information schedule current.
  • Actively understanding and meeting client requirements, be it internal or external, and developing procedures, processes, and systems to support these needs.
  • Supporting new developments or projects to enhance efficiency/productivity and elevate the profile of the Cash Accounting team.

Qualifications

What we are looking for:

  • Ideally, candidates should be pursuing ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualifications with substantial practical accounting experience.
  • Familiarity with LGIM – Knowledge of LGIM's business and products is advantageous.
  • Accounting Expertise – Proficiency in fundamental accounting concepts like double-entry bookkeeping and accruals is crucial for this role. Candidates should be working towards a relevant accountancy qualification or possess significant on-the-job experience in a Finance setting.
