As one of the day Mechanical Technicians at our site in Trafford Park, you will be responsible for defined maintenance activities within papermaking.

You will be accountable for maintaining the machine from a mainly mechanical perspective, based on preventative and predictive maintenance concepts.


You will also be responsible for the maintenance key performance indicators, ensuring that through continuous improvement activity as well as planned maintenance, the objectives are met.

You will work to all company standards including for safety and quality. You will also be involved on medium and longer-term projects to improve the efficiencies of the department.

As a Mechanical Technician, you will have:
Strong troubleshooting skills for technical issues with the ability to problem solve using root cause analysis

Be a driven team player with good planning and mentoring skills.

Proven mechanical experience in a heavy industry, manufacturing or process environment

Completed a recognised multi-skilled or mechanical engineering apprenticeship - preferably with a City & Guilds or equivalent NVQ 3 qualification

Proven experience in maintaining complex automated manufacturing systems and equipment

Basic electrical skills

Mobile Elevated Working Platforms (MEWPS) Licence
