Marketing Assistant Role


We're looking for an exceptional marketing assistant to join our Bristol-based team, helping to deliver our cycling behaviour change projects around the world.

This is a varied and challenging role involving everything from design to writing to social media to project admin.

It will be your role to support the marketing team and the wider project team with all creative and administrative marketing tasks.

This is a full-time role (37.5 hours), however, part-time/flexible working options are considered

Person Specification

You are an enthusiastic, friendly and personally motivated individual who can demonstrate creative and IT skills and an eye for detail.

You will have some experience in content creation and administration within a marketing role or similar. You feel comfortable balancing multiple tasks, working to tight deadlines, and you have a willingness to learn.


You don't need years of experience behind you - we're looking for someone with the passion and drive to help us in our mission: to get more bums on bikes.

You'll be joining a fun and friendly team and working within our brand guidelines to create engaging content for our riders and clients.

This is a Bristol-based role so you will ideally live in the city or within commuting distance.

  • A commitment to creating positive change in society
  • Some design experience using Adobe Illustrator and Indesign. Canva is good to know
  • Confident communicator with a clear writing style and excellent spelling and grammar
  • Social media experience a bonus
  • Experience in marketing, communications, media or similar field
  • Comfortable with administrative tasks for different departments
  • Productive and effective team worker who is also able to work independently without close supervision

The Marketing Assistant Role and Love to Ride
This is a full-time role, working a minimum of 37.5 hours per week. Following a successful probationary period of 3 months, you will be offered a full-time permanent contract.

Love to Ride
Love to Ride is an online platform and established global programme that gets more people cycling.

Using a wide range of communication channels and engagement techniques, we make it easy and fun to encourage friends, family and co-workers to ride.


We support people new to riding and encourage people who already ride to ride more often and to work, switching from cars to handlebars wherever possible.


By understanding existing behaviours, cycling frequency, real and perceived barriers and specific motivators, we can boost positive behavioural change by providing targeted information, support, incentives, rewards and encouragement.


We partner with cities, businesses, advocacy groups, transport authorities, sector stakeholders and other organisations around the world to provide the Love to Ride platform and to deliver and report on the success of our local and global programmes that are designed to encourage and grow cycling.


Requirements:

Roles and Responsibilities
The primary roles and responsibilities of the Marketing Assistant are:

  • Creating and editing graphics for our posters, flyers, website assets, social media, and any other area where a creative touch is required
  • Generating ideas for social media and assisting in the creation and scheduling of posts
  • Providing ideas for marketing campaigns that will enhance and grow the company's brand, and aiding in the administrative tasks required to get them off the ground
  • Writing and uploading website content
  • Connecting with our riders reaching out for content, providing support, and helping them to have a great time on the platform
  • Assisting with general project delivery of Love to Ride digital behaviour change projects
  • Carry out any other duties defined by the Marketing team which may from time to time be necessary to further the aims of Love to Ride
