GraduateRobotics Software Engineer

As aRobotics Software Engineer at Vaarstyou will be working todevelopour autonomous systems building on your knowledge to shapenew products and develop solutions to real world problems in thedomain of maritime robotics such as the autonomous inspection ofoffshore windfarms.

You willgain experience working on the navigation planning exploration andcontrol of robotics systems for operation in complex andchallenging environments. With the support from your team you willbuild and deploy high quality robust and safe autonomy solutions.You will also get the opportunity for handson experience trailingand evaluating advanced robotic vehicles in the water.

Werelooking for an experienced and talented software engineer who haswhat it takes to make a real impact in thisrole.

  • Passion for learning andbuilding high quality roboticssoftware
  • Developing modern C andPython
  • Understanding of software engineeringprinciples
  • Experience solving robotics problemssuch as:
    • Positioning and navigation of roboticsvehicles within uncertain environments
    • Mappingand path planning through unstructuredterrains
    • Vehicle dynamics and control ofunderactuated vehicles using PID LQR MPCetc.
    • Interfacing with sensors andactuators
  • Familiaritywith software development tooling such as: Git Docker Jenkins andCI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with ROS andLinux/Ubuntu

  • Conductingfield trials and working with realworldrobotics.
  • Knowledge of Computer Visiontechniques such as: SLAM Visual Odometry Structure from MotionCalibration algorithms.

  • Using OpenCVPCL Eigen libraries
  • Using 3D simulation such asGazebo.
