About the Role:

The De Parys Group has a fantastic opportunity for a GP assistant (GPA) to join our team. This a part-time role to work 15 hours per week, the days of work are flexible.


The post holder will provide a high standard of mentoring, coaching and training to all members of the Administrative team whilst supporting and working collaboratively with the Line Manager and Team Leader in the department.


The purpose of the role is to ensure that staff in the department are consistently trained to enter correct data that is accurately entered into patient notes, facilitate effective communication with patients and other outside agencies, dealing with patients over the phone and handling queries.


You will provide individual training through probation, induction and then as part of the ongoing overall training plan of that department.

You will also ensure that Admin staff are following protocol and to advise the Operations Manager of any potential risks identified or need to review process to ensure compliance with General Practice guidelines and regulatory requirements.


The usual place of work will be at our De Parys site however staff are expected to work at any of our sites when required.

With nearly 40,000 patients, The De Parys Group (TDPG) is Bedford's largest GP practice partnership.

From 5 sites in the Bedford area, the group runs team-based care, meaning that patients receive attention from a regular clinician, ensuring continuity, familiarity and autonomy.

There are plans for a new purpose built two-storey complex at Biddenham which will be shared with another local practice.

These premises will incorporate training rooms and a minor surgery suite.
