What you will be doing:

An opportunity has arisen for a Contract Engineer to join the team at Galliford Try within our Environment Business.

Ideally, you will based in or around the Paisley area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.

As Contract Engineer, you will be responsible for the individual management of Fabrication access metal works on projects predominately for Scottish Water, working on clean and sewage schemes.

You will be responsible for outlining the engineering of projects from inception to completion of schemes, utilising in-house resources, site installation and workshop personnel to ensure the timely completion of multiple concurrent projects, safely and within budget.

Your role forms an essential link in the supply chain, involving effective liaison with client's engineering and operations staff to ensure KPI's are met or exceeded within budget constraints and co-ordination and liaison with suppliers, specialist sub-contractors, in-house functions, site installations and construction teams. You will attend internal and external review and progress meetings and site visits/meetings. You'll show flexibility, resilience, and the ability to influence and build relationships. Demonstrating strong ethical standards with openness and honesty.

Day-to-day, it will be your role to ascertain preliminary and detailed design/project requirements and solutions, checking against current legislation and standards to ensure compliance, prepare estimates and quotations, carry out site surveys, design development and produce drawings or sketches for manufacture and complete contract documentation such job cards, method statements/risk assessments, cost to complete and inspection and test plans.

You will play a pivotal role in the project delivery team, part of your role will be to manage site safety, health, and environmental issues and also oversee the procurement of materials and specialist subcontractors as well as compile and collate final contract documentation, "As built" drawings and CE documentation.

Commercially, you will take responsibility for Profit/Loss on contracts undertaken, it will be down to you to establishing and agree price variations and final account and work through general record keeping and reporting.

About You:

Alongside your Fabrication or Engineering Background and astute commercial and contractual awareness, to be successful in the role, we'd like you to have experience in a fast paced, national, and multi-site business.

We're seeking a self-starter who can prioritise a varied workload and demonstrate good time management to comply with deadlines.

Good IT skills, including MS Office, AutoCAD/Draft Site and project management software is required.
