SEN Teaching Assistant at a Top-Rated School in Guildford

We are seeking compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistants to join our exceptional team at an Ofsted-rated 'Outstanding' school. This role presents a fantastic opportunity for individuals with a genuine interest in special education needs (SEN) to engage with autistic children aged 4-19. As part of our team, you will have access to a diverse range of fully funded training programs and qualifications, providing you with extensive hands-on experience and the chance to profoundly impact the lives of our students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver personalized support and education to students, following customized curricula.
  • Organize and implement lessons and activities focusing on communication and life skills development.
  • Facilitate student involvement in outings, applying theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios.
  • Provide behavioral support to address and diminish negative behaviors affecting quality of life.
  • Assist with personal care routines, promoting students' hygiene maintenance.
  • Track student progress and adjust teaching strategies to cater to individual needs.
  • Support during break times, including playground supervision and snack periods.
Requirements:
  • Experience in a professional, personal, or voluntary capacity working with children and disabilities.
  • Minimum Grade C/4 GCSE qualifications in English Language & Maths or equivalent.
  • Comfortable handling children displaying challenging behavior.
  • Willingness to assist with personal care needs when necessary.
  • Ability to stay composed in demanding situations.
