Plan the nursing care programmes in accordance with clinical objectives and with the involvement of patients, carers and multi-professional team.

Ensure that all nursing practice is evidence-based, utilising an evidence-based approach to care.

Undertake clinical and generic risk assessments.

Offer practical support and guidance to carers.

Works as a qualified member of the nursing team under the leadership of the Ward Manager, working in a collaborative and co-operative manner with other health care professionals to promote the wellbeing and interests of patients / clients in a mental health or learning disability setting

  • To undertake any other duties of a similar nature consistent with the responsibilities of this post in order to provide a quality Older Adult Urgent Care service.
  • Provide and receive clinical supervision and appraisal as per Trust policy.
  • Ensure an effective communication mechanism is in place, particularly with regards to patient care and progress.
  • Maintain NMC Registration, standards, and PREP requirements, taking all opportunities to further knowledge and develop professionally.
  • Assess resources to maintain appropriate standards of care, initiating any further action which may be required when resources are felt to be inadequate.
  • Embrace the Trust's Visions and Values and commit to working within essential standards of quality and safety.
