Canterbury, Kent, United Kingdom Porchlight Full time

Mental Health Together - Porchlight Service Manager

As the Porchlight service manager within Mental Health Together, you will lead a team of people working frontline supporting individuals as they embark on their journey towards mental health recovery. Your role involves developing the Porchlight team, ensuring quality standards are implemented and upheld. Displaying a clear commitment to quality practice, you must guarantee that support meets high standards consistently and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Managing a dispersed team requires strong communication skills, leading by example, and adapting your communication style to cater to various learning and development needs.

This position is part of the newly formed Kent & Medway service, Mental Health Together (MHT), where Porchlight is a key strategic partner. It represents a reformed multi-agency initiative that integrates services and agencies supporting individuals with diverse mental health needs. This integration aims to streamline access to care without the challenge of navigating service boundaries and recounting personal stories repeatedly.

Individuals suited for this role should possess substantial experience in community mental health and wellbeing settings, emphasizing quality, improvement, and effective management of a team of community-based workers.

Do you meet the requirements?

  • Extensive experience in leading community mental health and wellbeing services?
  • Proven track record of collaborative work in developing services?
  • Ability to empathize with individuals, understand their needs, and collaboratively create achievable plans through coaching?
  • Dedication to enhancing individuals' mental health service experiences?

Working Hours: 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday with some flexibility needed.

Location: Negotiable across East Kent, to be determined post-appointment.
