A family run independent funeral service company, providing a sincere and caring funeral service to generations of families for over 35 years

As part of our on-going expansion, we are looking to recruit a Driver/Bearer on an 'As Required' basis. The hours will vary as workload dictates and there will be a requirement of 24 hour on call duties on a rota.

Key Job Function

The main function of the role is to carry out driving and bearing duties as instructed in a sincere and dignified manner.

Duties and Responsibilities
The role will include but not be limited to the following duties;

• Drive a funeral vehicle to and from funeral services in a formal and respectful manner (full training given)
• Carry the coffin at a funeral service as part of a team of bearers (full training given)
• Always represent the company in a respectful and formal manner
• Follow instructions 100% whilst on duty
• Assist in ensuring the company vehicles are always presentable
• 24 hour on call duties on a rota to attend to deceased persons (full training given)

Experience/Skills Required

• The ability to follow instructions 100%
• Sincere and respectful disposition
• Fit and able to carry a coffin as part of a team in an appropriate and dignified manner (full training given)
• Full clean driving licence
• Able to handle emotive situations with detachment and empathy

Job Type:
Part-time

Salary:
£10.50-£20.60 per hour

• Monday to Friday
• Overtime
• Weekend availability

Experience:

• Driving: 10 years (preferred)
