THE ROLE


The Junior Designer will play an important role in the creative department, providing support to senior members on design, artwork and presentation projects.

A good eye for detail is a must and some experience in a similar role is preferable. The role has an emphasis on presentation design so an understanding of Microsoft PowerPoint or similar is a necessity.

In addition, the Junior Desinger will also be called upon to do other design related tasks, so the role also requires a good understanding of the Adobe Creative Suite (primarily InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop).


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The role has an emphasis on presentation design, which will require: Support in the creation and amendment of PowerPoint slides and decks, creating, formatting and amending slides, setting up master files and/or modifying masters if needed
  • Additionally, support the designers in the department across their various projects, including artwork, traditional design, digital design, animation, booth design and branding
  • Create assets where directed including data (graph) redraws and icons
  • Complete amends to materials where directed, ensuring they are done accurately
  • Be able to meet deadlines and manage time effectively
  • Be good at multitasking
  • Always have an eye on the detail, ensureing work is 100% correct before it goes out the door
  • Ensure work is signed off by a senior creative before it goes to the account team or client

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent working knowledge of MS PowerPoint or similar presentation design software
  • You must be Mac literate and experienced in Adobe CSS (Photoshop/InDesign/Illustrator)
  • A Strong sense of design layout/composition and typography
  • A working knowledge of interactive PDFs and Adobe Acrobat
  • The ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects
  • Be adaptable and flexibile to changing priorities and demanding timelines
  • Have the ability to work as part of a team or autonomously
  • Be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical services or healthcare a plus
  • Knowledge of animation/video editing is beneficial

CRITICAL RELATIONSHIPS


Critical relationships for the Junior Designer include the Senior Powerpoint Designer, Senior Designers, Art Director, Writers, Creative Director, Client Service Team and the Production/Traffic Manager.


MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


Bachelor's degree in art, design or other relevant area and experience within the marketing and communications industry or agency environment months experience is beneficial.
