We currently have an opportunity for an Engineering CAD Technician to join our Glasgow design office. This is a great opportunity to join a successful team who are continuing to grow.

Our Engineering Technicians play an integral part of the success of our design teams. We value their knowledge, skills and input on our projects. This is a great opportunity to work on a variety of challenging and complex infrastructure projects regionally, nationally and internationally.

Responsibilities:

To carry out this role successfully, you will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:

  • Ably prepare and modify technical drawings and schedules of a moderate level of complexity based on designs supplied by Engineers.
  • Effectively use the drafting tools and software a technician has at their disposal such as AutoCAD, REVIT, and Microstation.
  • Develop Revit/Synchro and other advanced CAD and BIM skills as part of professional development.
  • Seek technical support and guidance of senior team members where required, apply your knowledge and experience for the guidance of others.
  • Issue drawings to engineers and manage electronic information including preparation and issue of drawing and document schedules.
  • Understand the commercial requirements of projects and the company as a whole.
About You
  • Diploma or Higher Certificate in Civil/Structural Engineering or a relevant subject.
  • Competent IT skills including MS Office.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience of technical drawing using CAD in a consultancy environment.
  • Good level of knowledge and understanding of Civil Engineering drafting and practice,
  • Ability to read and understand "multi-discipline" drawings and create general arrangement drawings and detail under the guidance of an Engineer.
  • Ability to produce bending schedules.
  • Good understanding of civil and structural engineering terminology.
  • Ability in the use of at least one common engineering CAD software package such AutoCAD, REVIT or Microstation.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work to programme deadlines.
