What can I expect?

We have an exciting Digital Apprenticeship opportunity to join our IT Team. As an IT apprentice, you will start your apprenticeship working with our Service Desk, providing first line IT support to our people and operations. You will then move around the different areas across IT and Cyber security before specialising in your fourth and final year.

The purpose of our IT Team is to ensure that all our IT production equipment is functioning as well as developing new digital solutions to help improve our efficiency and productivity performance.

You will be studying towards the digital and technology solutions professional degree apprenticeship (level 6).

To work in our IT Team, you will develop the following skills.
  • Work as part of a team to find root cause faults in our digital systems & fix them.
  • Develop methods to ensure faults do not reoccur in the future.
  • Support new and current digital applications to help the factory improve.
  • Be an excellent communicator to people, fix their IT problems and support the factory by giving progress updates about maintenance activities
  • Work flexibly across different areas of the business and supporting our critical IT infrastructure.
  • Support colleagues by showing them new IT Technologies and software.
  • Develop and implement cybersecurity measures.

  • You think logically, willing to self-learn and research, and take a creative approach to problem solving
  • You enjoy collaborating with others to find innovative solutions
  • You can work independently, safely and responsibly; take ownership of challenges and ideas and are looking to develop your ability to drive and lead change
  • Someone who is genuinely interested in software and technology who is wanting to pursue a professional career in IT or Engineering.
  • Identify with our values of Zero Harm, Innovative, Excellent and Responsible, and have a strong Growth Mindset.
  • Be excited by the prospect of working for the Siemens Digital Industries Division, with our product portfolio and in our customers' industries.
Minimum educational requirements:

You will have achieved or be on track to achieve a Merit / Grade B in relevant level 3 qualifications such as a T-Level, BTEC or A-Levels and Level 2 (GCSE) Maths and English language at grade A-B.
