Hampshire CAMHS has a strong and on going commitment to providing Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy for Children, Young people and Families.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist to join us in our Eastleigh team.

Psychotherapy is a highly valued and protected part of the Psychological Therapies service which includes Arts and Creative Therapies, Family Systemic Psychotherapy and our Specialist Children in Care team.

We are looking for a creative and motivated child psychotherapist who is committed to our CAPT values and core principles in offering and developing psychotherapy within our established and evolving teams.

Your unique and specialist skills, training and experience will support Psychotherapy specialist assessments and interventions for children and young people and their families with mental health problems, including young people with developmental and complex trauma, diverse needs, children in need and looked after children and young people, parents and carers.

To work as a member of the clinical service/ team, providing a high quality, specialist child psychotherapy service to children, young people, their families or carers.

In addition, to support psychological practice within the team through psychoanalytically informed consultation, supervision, formulation and training and by participating in systematic clinical governance.

To work with complex presentations suitable for child psychotherapy in the team, utilising a high level of knowledge and experience and adapting approaches as appropriate, with regard to evidence based practice.

We are currently working closely with other NHS Trusts to integrate all our collective community, mental health, and learning disability services.

Our new organisation, to be known as Hampshire and Isle of Wight NHS Foundation Trust, is set to launch in July 2024.

The transformation will happen in staggered stages Hampshire CAMHS, part of Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust joined Southern Health in February 2024, with Isle of Wight NHS Trust mental health and community services transitioning in early May 2024.

The final combination of Southern Health and Solent Trusts is anticipated to occur in July 2024, when the new organisation will be formed.

Our new Trust will continue to cater to the unique needs of different communities, making healthcare across the county more accessible, as well as offering staff more opportunities for career development, training and partnership working.
