Job Title: Finance Business Partner

Salary: £35,000 per annum

Hours per week: 35 (flexible working options considered)

You'll be required to work from our head office in Wigston, Leicester a minimum of 2 days per week (one of which will be a Tuesday). The remainder of your working hours will be undertaken from home.

About the role
We are looking for a Finance Business Partner to join IOSH, at this exciting time in our Business Process transformational journey in Year 2 of our Activate 2028 strategy.

As a Finance Business Partner, you will build partnerships and maintain strong relationships with all senior managers and their teams, providing a key financial service for budget holders. You will provide support to the Head of Finance (HoF) and Senior Finance Business Partner (SFBP) in maintaining and running complex financial models to ensure robust business planning and effective decision making across the IOSH group.

You will provide individual directorates with advice and analysis to improve the understanding of business performance, providing options and scenarios for business decisions.

You will also;

  • Produce accurate and timely monthly financials including production of Directorate income and expenditure accounts and compilation of detailed variance analysis,
  • Assist budget holders with financial planning and reviews of monthly financial reports and produce robust and detailed forecasts in line with the Finance timetable.
  • Support the HoF and SFBP in the production of the IOSH Annual Budget and Medium-Term Financial Plan for reporting to IOSH decision making groups including the Finance & Investment Committee (FIC) and Board of Trustees.
  • Support the HoF and SFBP by contributing to ad hoc financial projects and analysis as required to create reporting models, dashboards, systems and processes to achieve accurate, timely and agile financial reporting processes and self-serve methods to support the financial management goals of the organisation.
  • Support the SFBP in delivering training sessions with Directorates and new starter inductions to develop an awareness of financial performance requirements, and the need for budgetary control.

What you'll bring

You will either be a qualified/part-qualified or a qualified by experience Accountant with evidence of up-to-date knowledge and relevant management accounting experience within a Business Partnering role.

Essential criteria

  • Experience of financial analysis and business case planning, with an ability to understand and create complex spreadsheets and modelling tools.
  • Experience of managing key components of financial month end routines and meeting reporting deadlines.
  • Experience of providing advice and support to budget holders and others on financial matters
  • Track record of recommending improvements and implementing change
  • Ability to work accurately and analytically with a strong attention to detail.
