Job Purpose
As a Driver at our GMS Chester branch. You are an integral part of our team, responsible for delivering customer orders, supplier collection, customer returns.

Key Accountabilities

  • Deliver parcels and handle returns within a specific geographical area
  • Load, unload, prepare and operate a delivery vehicle
  • Obtaining proof of delivery where required
  • Support the branch warehouse by undertaking any reasonable duties, including periodic stocktakes.
  • Working as part of a team providing excellent customer service wherever there is interaction with our customers
  • Conducting multi drop deliveries to our customers in a safe and timely manner
  • Adhering to all legislative requirements
  • Ensure company vehicle clean and properly maintained by performing regular Inspection
  • Reporting any accidents, injuries, and vehicle damage to management.
  • Make recommendations for improvements of delivery routes on an ongoing basis
  • Consult with internal sales and management teams to ensure urgency of deliveries

Key Skills and Behaviours

  • Confident IT Skills computerised stock management system
  • Health and Safety knowledge
  • Initiativetaking with a dedicated approach
  • Full Clean Driving Licence
  • Sound knowledge of road safety regulations
  • Good local geographical knowledge

  • Able to prioritise and work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines
