Molinare is a film and broadcast post-production facility with 50 years of experience and is now one of the most respected names in the industry, specialising in television drama, feature films, feature documentaries and broadcast factual.

Molinare began in 1973 with a small studio called Molinare Sound Services.

Today, having expanded into the world of high-end broadcast and feature post production, they are in an exciting position of strength and growth, providing the most creative and technically advanced services achievable.

Specialisms include grading and digital intermediate, sound, interactive, workflow management and international servicing.

Job Purpose/Summary:


The job holder will be part of the MCR/Edit Support team and will work to deliver optimum technical efficiency to enable the company to deliver a competitive, agile and flexible technical response to meet the developing needs of our clients.

The Edit Support and Media Operator is responsible for ongoing technical support to Molinare's edit, audio and other suites with regard to setup and operation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all Edit Assistant duties within the Edit Support team, with working Avid experience essential.
  • Provide deliverable creation, encoding, QC, transcoding and ingest services.
  • Provide a friendly, efficient and reliable service to the editors and clients.
  • Provide technical, operational and practical support for clients, editors and other Molinare staff.
  • Provide operational and technical faultfinding and frontline maintenance and support to our offline clients and suites.
  • Be a point contact for clients and Post Production Managers on issue and ongoing projects.
  • Undertake ingest and prep work for our offline suites.
  • Undertake edit assistant work, such as syncing & grouping, ingest, suite support and file creation.
  • Undertake Avid, Unity and Nexis and other storage device file/workspace management. To control and monitor the movement of media in preparation, during and after editing.
  • Perform Avid/Premiere renders and playouts (for broadcast and nonbroadcast purposes).
  • Creating a range of deliverable material from editing software.
  • To have the ability to spot, identify and address issues with equipment and materials and be able to flag these issues in an understandable manner to the relevant people; be able to suggest and undertake corrective action where possible.
  • To ensure all duplications and materials produced in the department meet all relevant technical
  • To ensure any materials produced meet the necessary quality for the purpose that they are being created.
  • Make sure all technical equipment and areas are clean, tidy and in working order.
  • To be able to communicate with clients and staff members at all levels, including the ability to communicate technical issues to people at differing levels of technical expertise.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience of edit support in a postproduction environment
  • Sound understanding of the principles of TV and film post production technology
  • Sound understanding operational broadcast theory.
  • Knowledge of modern post production workflows, equipment and infrastructure
  • Understand the implications of decisions and actions on the workflow
  • Experience of NLE edit systems and NLE or machine room environments
  • Sound understanding of the principles of TV and film post production technology
  • Understanding of information exchange formats, such as EDLs, AFEs, XMLs etc.
  • Experience of data processes in a post production environment
  • Indepth understanding of video and audio codecs, compression techniques, file transcoding and technical
