Job summary
An exciting opportunity to join the Medicine for Older People and TIA Service team, working closely with Consultants, Nursing and Admin Staff within the specialty. This is a part time role working closely with the Specialty Manager supporting the service development, working with the clinical and divisional teams. The successful person will have good communication and organisational skills, feel comfortable with managing priorities and problem solving.
Main duties of the job
Main duties and responsibilities:
To line manage and provide day to day supervision for administrative and clerical staff in Medicine for Older People and TIA Service.
To support the Deputy Specialty Manager to manage RTT performance and levels
To understand the various clerical roles within the department in order to provide back fill for absence of team members
To act as a point of contact for the senior management team
To support recruitment of staff including the preparation of job descriptions, personal specifications, adverts and documentation required for submission to the Divisional Pay Control Panel (PCP)
Resolve informal complaints and redirect complex issues to the appropriate manager or team. Support the Specialty Manager in responding to investigations and complaints
Formulate, produce and present reports and recommendations for significant change to the Specialty Manager/Divisional Management team as requested
