Electronics Buyer

Introduction:

Our client in the Defence industry is looking for a Buyer with experience in Defence or Aerospace, to work in the electronics or PCB commodity.

Main responsibilities will be placing and expediting purchase orders and export control using SAP.

This role is primarily remote but with 1 day per fortnight on site in Fife.

Key responsibilities:

• Purchasing electronics parts for Defence products
• Engages with Stakeholder Functional leads regarding supplier bid and selection criteria
• Leading the development of Commodity Agreements
• Leading the development and management of tenders
• Performs or supports cost and price analysis
• Creates business cases/ briefing materials for management reviews
• Works with suppliers and functional stakeholders to achieve collaborative partnering, strategic relationship management to deliver required service level KPIs
• Establishes and manages supplier relationships to include supplier continuous improvement/development goals

Skills & experience:

• Experience as a buyer within Defence or Aerospace
• Must have experience with either Electronics commodity of PCB/PCA
• Experience with ITAR and export control
• SAP experience essential
• Experience of creating / developing Commodity strategies and turning them into operational reality
• Create and execute various types of Supplier / teaming / framework agreements
