Overview:

We are currently seeking a General Operative to join our team at Sandy Bay, Lisburn.

As a General Operative you will be primarily responsible for the safe and efficient discharge of sand barges into land plant - assist with other land-based plant duties

More about what you will do:

  • To comply with all Company Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and policies
  • To operate and monitor equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • To perform or assist with preventative maintenance and preshift inspections, repair and/ or clean equipment as required
  • Operate and control discharge equipment from barges to land plant, at required times
  • Monitor sand production plant and barge discharge functions and report relevant information to site manager
  • To support the housekeeping of plant, equipment and site
  • To comprehend and complete paperwork associated with this role in a timely and accurate manner

What we need from you:

  • Previous knowledge and experience of working with plant and equipment in a construction environment
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Ability to work flexibly to meet business needs to include early, late and weekend shifts
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to operate mobile plant / carded (desirable)
  • Knowledge and / or experience of sand dredging and processing plant (desirable)
  • Mechanical, hands on background (desirable)
