What does it mean to be a Kelvin Timber Van Driver


We are seeking a helpful and adaptable individual to handle customer deliveries using our transit pickup van and assist in yard operations when necessary at our bustling timber and builder's merchant branch in Hamilton.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of goods using the Company pickup van
  • Manual loading and unloading of delivery vehicles or operation of sideloader/forklift truck
  • Assisting customers with collections and verifying orders
  • Organising stock in storage areas and conducting sorting and grading tasks
  • Fulfilling orders by picking and packing items
  • Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness in work areas and ensuring compliance with health and safety policies and procedures, including manual handling guidelines
  • Checking customer vehicles before departure to minimize stock losses
  • Addressing inquiries from commercial customers or the public
  • Undertaking any other duties considered reasonable within the job role

Requirements to join our team:

  • Minimum age of 21 (insurance requirement)
  • Possession of a full, manual driving license for at least 2 years (insurance requirement)
  • Previous experience in multidrop van driving
  • Familiarity with warehouse operations and customer service
  • Awareness of health and safety protocols
  • Desirable (not essential): Sideloader and/or Forklift Truck (FLT) license
Availability for full-time work from Monday to Friday, with alternate Saturday mornings (8:00 AM - 01:00 PM)
