Key Skills and Experience

  • Windows Server (2012 R2 and later, user management, patching, storage, networking, etc.)
  • MS SQL Server (installing, configuring, database operations, running scripts, familiarity with T-SQL but this it is not a requirement for detailed SQL DBA or Dev skills).
  • Microsoft IIS Web server installation, configuration, management, troubleshooting
  • Understanding of security principle including managing SSL certificates
  • Experience administering Windows Server inc. AD 9user management), DNS, virtualisation, etc.
  • Some experience of working with MS Azure would be an advantage
  • Experience of working with Enterprise software in a corporate IT environment would be useful
  • Ability to consistently work to agreed procedures
  • Where necessary input to, and document new procedures or amendment to existing procedures (for upgrades and installations)
  • Provide constructive feedback to QFM development team regarding potential improvements to installation and upgrade tools
  • Good problemsolving capabilities
  • Innovative but commercially focussed with an understanding of business priorities
  • Good communicator with the ability to work and interact directly with customers. successfully
  • Selfmotivated, with the ability to work under pressure to deadlines
  • Passionate about delivering high quality IT services to staff and customers
**Typical duties will be:

  • Setting up and managing the UK installation and upgrade schedule
  • Interacting directly with clients and SWG project managers
  • Carrying out client installation and upgrades
  • Assisting the customer support team with technical and installation related issues
  • Working flexibly as part of an 8man team looking after client support and technical operations.
