Café Kitchen Assistant

Reporting to:
Kitchen Supervisor & Commercial Manager, Market Garden Café,

Rural Life Living Museum

Overall objective:

To provide a professional kitchen service at the Market Garden Café, within the Rural Life Living Museum, and contribute towards ensuring that the Museum's standards and ethos are maintained.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Hot & cold food preparation
  • To ensure that the highest standards of food safety and hygiene are met.
  • To deliver the Café menu as per specification.
  • To work as a member of the Café team, alongside other staff in a sympathetic and professional manner.
Food and Service

  • Adhere to and deliver against required food safety, hygiene and food handling standards
  • To be passionate about producing good quality food and wellpresented dishes
Customer Service

  • Under the direction of the Kitchen Supervisor, ensure that customers are given a prompt and efficient service and that their expectations are consistently met.
  • Have the ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Be able to work proactively as an individual and as part of a wider team.
  • Be eager to learn new skills and develop knowledge.
  • Have flexible availability for work, including weekends and bank holidays.
Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintain a positive, cando attitude
  • To part take in all duties required to ensure the kitchen service runs smoothly, including but not limited to food preparation, daily/weekly cleaning, the completion of all kitchen checklists to ensure health & safety requirements are being met & followed.

£10.00 per hour
